Who is this course for?
Music Theory B has been specially developed for:
- Students who have taken Music Theory A at Muziek Lokaal or another music school or harmony school and have passed an A exam.
- Students who sing or play an instrument at Muziekonderwijs Aalst-Waalre and will be taking the practical exam B next year. And who, in addition to practical lessons, also want to take theory lessons and sit the exam.
Learn the language of music
so that you can sing or play even better and more convincingly!
Music can be seen as a language: music theory is the grammar that helps you truly understand and master this language. By gaining insight into how a piece of music is constructed, you will not only play or sing more accurately, but also with more conviction and feeling. It will familiarise you with different styles and forms more quickly and give you the freedom to be creative, for example by improvising or coming up with variations yourself.
What we do
Music theory, ear training and receptive training are playfully interwoven in nine lessons. We delve deeper into Theory A Playfully and add additional topics. Afterwards, you take a final exam, followed by a discussion lesson.
- We practise and learn together the music theory, the 3 parts of the theory exam
- We play on rhythm instruments, glockenspiels, boomwhackers
- We play theory quartet games
- We play short rhythms and melodies, intervals and triads
- We listen to musical instruments, pieces of music, scales and intervals, and triads
- We compose rhythms and melodies
- We make rhythmic dictation, melodic dictation, theory and listening exercises
- We work on the interactive whiteboard
